The UT Gardens provides an excellent backdrop to study the effects of climate change in East Tennessee. This symposium will explore several programs designed to engage the general public in monitoring threatened plants and animals. Featured presenter Dr. Joanne Logan will discuss climatology on both a global and local scale. Participants will learn how to strengthen their observation skills through nature journaling and botanic sketching. We hope that participants will be interested in exploring the Gardens and helping us monitor natural changes throughout the year. Monitory programs will include the Great Sunflower Project, Project BudBurst, and Monarch monitoring. This event is suitable for children, parents and educators. Lunch is included in the cost.

Fee $50  Duration: All day
